First Day of School

Well the first day for half the kids anyways.... (Bethany won't start for another week or two).
We woke up very early, well early for us that have been used to sleeping in all summer... (Abbigail was not thrilled when I had to roll out of bed at 6:30 am).
The boys got dressed in their new clothes, and put all of their school supplies in their new backpacks, ready for their first day of school.

After pictures, out the door we went, jumped in the car and drove down the road to the school. I was planning on walking there but it was very chilly.
We dropped Corban off in his First Grade classroom and helped him put his supplies in the bag on his desk. His teacher had remembered the spot he chose while we were there on Friday for Bethany's Kindergarten assessments. He didn't seem too excited though, almost as though he wanted to cry. I walked with him around the classroom and showed him the names of kids that were in his Kindergarten class, that seemed to help relieve some of his anxiety. We left him with his coloring page to take Zachary down two doors to his classroom.
Zachary had no problem walking right into his classroom, finding his seat, and pulling out his school supplies. His friends from First Grade all said his name right when he walked in the room, happy to see him. They all commented on his "big box" (his school box that was once mine since I couldn't find any at the store that would fit all of his school supplies), everyone else in the class had small boxes.
We left Zachary and peeked back into Corban's class to see how he was doing, he was sitting down coloring away at his worksheet and seemed to be doing just fine.
When the kids got home I didn't hear much about their day. As usual they did "nothing" the whole time they were there, all they did was eat and play outside.
I got the lovely job of filling out the huge packet of paperwork that gets sent home on the first day of school.
